As I mentioned in the first blog, this time of year entices me to start nesting…the warm and vibrant colors of the changing seasons inspire me to bring Fall inside! The bare limbs exposed from the turned leaves falling, the vibrant colored berries intertwined with the fresh pine greenery, the mixture of gourds amidst the natural twigs and grasses…umm I love the festive feeling of fall!

One of my favorite elements when decorating for fall is the bountiful bouquets that enhance the colors, soften the feel and just bring a welcoming flavor to the room! Adding a few basic fall components to an arrangement can make it festive for the holidays; just a few feathers, or try some pine greenery with a hint of berries, or maybe some limbs or bittersweet twigs…

Here are some creative ways to use arrangements in your rooms.

This arrangement has been a customer favorite this season; adding a dramatic flare to any table whether it is a centerpiece for a holiday party or on a side table of an entry shouting “welcome”. The rich colors of the berries carry the colors up from the table settings. Again on the side table the berry colors are repeated in the metal containers.

Take it up high! I treat the tops of my bookcases or armoires as another shelf, another layer to keep the eye flowing. This layer needs to be accented with different shapes, heights and textures. What better way to take the color up and soften the shelf, than with an arrangement!

Here is a mantle that is symmetrical, using a pair of arrangements that are mirrored images.

This is a great way to bring the “WOW” factor to the entry of your home! This significant stone urn featuring a striking fall arrangement can welcome family and friends all season at a large front door or inside to warm a foyer.

Swags are a great way to soften a bookcase, an armoire or a mirror like this below. This swag has the warm, vibrant colors of fall, but is festive enough to go right into Christmas.

I hope this brought you some inspiration on how to bring fall inside with your arrangements. If I can help you find something to tuck in your bouquet or create a custom look for your holidays, come see me at the store!

Stay tuned, next week I’m going to talk about ideas for Christmas décor, “Glitter, Glitz, and Holiday Glamour!”
